Laughlin Children’s Center is a non-profit, privately funded organization that helps over 1,200 children from Allegheny and surrounding counties each year. The Center was founded in 1956 and serves children from preschool through high school. Our educational services include individual tutoring in language arts, math, and study skills, as well as small group programs and our NAEYC-accredited Village Preschool. Beyond academics, Laughlin’s work centers on psychology services such as counseling and evaluations, and speech services such as screenings and therapy. Although they focus on different outcomes, these services work together comprehensively, providing support to the whole child. Laughlin Children’s Center accepts most insurance plans. We help children obtain services regardless of their families' ability to pay by annually awarding financial aid in excess of $65,000. As a community-based non-profit resource, Laughlin’s goal is to help each child build a bridge to successful learning. Laughlin Children’s Center is a special place where every child achieves personal success and develops confidence as a learner.
