You won’t believe your eyes, or your tastebuds!

An irresistible stop on your Sewickley tour for kids young and old, Village Candy was born in 2005 when Sewickley resident, Doug Alpern looked around his historic village business district and noticed the lack of an essential ingredient – a candy store.  Actually, he had noticed long before that, after living in various parts of the country, how the corner candy store that had been a consistent community fixture was rapidly becoming a thing of the past.  So he decided to stake his claim and create the best candy store he could imagine. The atmosphere is a throw back to days gone by and brings a smile to every face that walks through the door.

The preeminent candy store in Pennsylvania has something for everyone. Over 80 different kinds of “by the pound” treats (including many old rarities), over 45 individual flavors or mixes of renowned Jelly Belly® jelly beans (along with a wide assortment of their packaged treats), and 21 individual colors of everyone’s favorite M&Ms® are just the beginning. Village Candy specializes in memorable candies from the past, like Razzles, Bit O Honey, Bonomo Turkish Taffy, Goo Goo Clusters, Cherry Mash, Zagnut, Skybar, Nik L Nips and Candy Buttons.  They also carry candy-themed gifts for every occasion, including pillows, gumball dispensers, t-shirts, and much more.  An extensive chocolate department (try the bacon or chili pepper flavored chocolate bars) features artisan chocolates from all over the globe, and their legendary cooler contains over 160 types of individual glass bottled sodas from all over the country. Sign up for the monthly newsletter to learn about the free soda tastings every other month, and occasional other featured events. Village Candy is definitely worth a special trip.
